Investment prospect after the financial tsunami in the US

Many people may call the recent crisis in the US as a global financial tsunami as a number of US giant financial firms, such as AIG, Merrill Lynch, Lehman Brothers, either runs into bankruptcy or incurs gigantic losses.  The global stock markets thus plunged sharply one by one after our Mid-Autumn festival last Sunday.  Many analysts even expect that there will be a further drop to HIS 15,000 or below.  That is over 50% from the peak last year.  Is it really the possible bottom of the drop or even worse scenario may come about?

HKUGA policy group invites Charles LO, Chief Investment Officer of Cape Asset management Ltd, to give us a talk on the above topic.  Charles is a senior member of HKUGA and a well-known investment professional in the financial sector.  His profound knowledge and practicing experience will certainly enhance our grasp of the background and give us enlightening views on the direction of the coming days.

Anther speaker is Dr. K. C. Law (羅家聰博士).  Dr. Law is also a HKU graduate and the Chief Investment Strategist of Bank of Communications Co Ltd. HK Branch.  He is a prominent commentator in the market and media and gives very sensible views on his professional field.  Among a number of investment strategists, he is one of the earliest to project a great drop in the global markets.  More importantly, his view was regarded overly pessimistic in the early 2008 and at that time, few people subscribed to his view that HSI will drop below HIS 18,000.

Interested members are welcome to join and enroll by replying to us as soon as possible.  The seminar's details are as below:
