Programme Details:
- Part I: Professor Patrick Nip will share with fellow HKU alumni how to navigate challenges in public service and pandemics with faith – during his over 35 years of service in the government, he had encountered pandemics in various positions, including the SARS outbreak in 2003, the human swine flu in 2009 and the recent COVID-19 pandemic.

About the Speaker
Professor Patrick Nip, GBS, JP
Professor Patrick Nip was a Principal Official of the fifth-term Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government from July 2017 to June 2022. He was the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs from July 2017 to April 2020 and the Secretary for the Civil Service from April 2020 to June 2022.
He received a Bachelor Degree in Social Sciences from the University of Hong Kong and a Master Degree in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School in the United States. He has also studied public administration at Oxford University and attended national studies courses at the Chinese Academy of Governance.
He is now an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Politics and Public Administration at the University of Hong Kong ([click here] for more about Professor Patrick Nip).
Dr. John Choi (Moderator)
Dr. John Choi is serving in the Infectious Diseases Unit of Queen Mary Hospital. He received an MBBS degree from the University of Hong Kong.
